Apple iPhone Launching in Britain and Germany Today
16/11/2007
Apple Inc.`s muchanticipated iPhone device will go on sale outside the U.S. for the first time today, launching in Britain and Germany.
The 8GB music phone features builtin WiFi and mobile data technology, as well as a host of multimedia features and other mobile software. It will be sold by TMobile in Germany for 399 (US$584), and by O2 and Carphone Warehouse in the UK, at a cost of £269 (US$564).
Analysts aren`t expecting the iPhone`s European launch to create quite as much fervor as the American release in late June, which attracted close to 500,000 buyers in a single weekend. There is sure to be a sizable rush, however, and retailers in Germany and Britain have undoubtedly prepared for anything.
